Maintenance/factory maintenance

Oil changes are only part of a vehicle’s necessary maintenance. Other issues can arise if you do not check and replace windshield wipers (especially here in Prince George, where the snow and ice can damage normal windshield wipers; it is recommended to switch to specialized winter wipers when you switch your tires over); changing the air filters (particulate count can definitely affect air filters); and brakes – one of the more important parts of your vehicle, as stopping quickly can be necessary.

Tires

Unfortunately in Prince George because of our weather, proper winter tires are a necessary to drive on our roads safely. Depending on the vehicle that you drive and/or where you drive, we can recommend tires that will ensure you stay on the road, in any condition.

Brakes

Are your brakes squeaking? Do you find you cannot stop as easily as before? Bring your vehicle in to D-Line Automotive, we can inspect to see if your brakes need to be changed before you try to stop – and can’t.

Electrical

Electrical issues can be something annoying like the windshield wipers going off at strange times to a gas gauge not reading properly. If you have a faulty tail light or something of the like, you might also have electrical issues. Again, bring in your vehicle to D-Line and we will help you out.

Drive train

The drive train, or power train, includes the engine, transmission, drive shafts, differentials and the final drive; if there is a problem with any of these parts, your vehicle might be sluggish to start, not work properly – or not work at all. Give us a call if you suspect you have drive train problems.

Clutch

Clutches are like brakes in the way that they both have a material on them that causes friction – in clutches, this material wearing out is one of the most common problems. You may also find that your clutch does not release properly at all; either way, give D-Line Automotive a call.

Oil changes

Depending on the manufacturer of your vehicle, oil changes are recommended once a year or every 8,000 kilometres; check your driver’s manual to be sure. This is especially important if you vehicle is still under factory warranty.

Major/minor engine repairs

Engine repairs can be large or small; depending on the issue being straightforward or more of a mystery. We are able to figure out what the issue is and solve it as soon as possible; just bring it in!

Suspension

Are you feeling each bump in your road … even without the Prince George potholes? You may have a problem with your suspension! Age, and simply driving over too many potholes, can cause issues in your suspension. Give us a call if you’d like to have your smooth ride back.

Tire storage

Who enjoys lugging their tires to and from their house each time they need to change over their tires? No one! That is why D-Line Automotive started our tire storage program; all you need to do is bring us your winter or summer tires, we’ll switch them over for you and keep the other ones here; it’ll give you even more room in your garage!

Exhaust

One of the most common issues with exhaust is rust; considering the amount of road salt and sand we drive over every winter here in Prince George, rust is a big issue. If you’re finding that your vehicle is sounding louder than it should; give us a call!

Fuel injection

Fuel injection issues can be caused by dirty or clogged injectors, injectors that are stuck open – or closed – or even injectors that leak. Symptoms can include an engine that does not idle evenly, inconsistent engine power or a misfiring engine. If your vehicle sounds like it has any of these problems, contact us!

Diagnostics

The essence of diagnostics is figuring out a problem that is not necessarily obvious; it is also used to provide an overall “check up” on your vehicle. If you feel there is a poltergeist in your truck, or if you are heading out on a long road trip and want to be sure your vehicle is safe, schedule an appointment with D-Line Automotive.
